Keeping Abreast in Higher Education

College faculty members and staff of NTC attended several webinars conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XI.

This is to capacitate and retool teaching and non-teaching personnel in the new
normal. The following are the webinars attended:


CHED XI Webinar on Instructional Design for Open and Distance eLearning (ODeL)

CHED ROXI conducted the Webinar on Instructional Design for Open and Distance eLearning (ODeL) last June 3, 2020 via Zoom and Facebook Livestreaming. Dr. Joane V. Serrano, Director Information Office, University of the Philippines, Open University, was the Resource Person. The webinar was attended by Dr. Aiza Romano.


Online Conference with National Service Training Program (NSTP) Coordinators

This conference was held last December 10, 2020 via Zoom Videoconferencing Platform. The main objective of the activity is to present the CHED Regional Office XI directions in the new normal environment, including its updates and activities. This will also be an opportunity to present and share the NSTP 1 and NSTP 2 Course Packs written by the NSTP Coordinators Team of Writers. The participants of the conference are NSTP Coordinators from all Higher Education Institutions in Region XI. Ms. JC Jun Gallera participated the said online conference.

B2HELP Scholarship

Through the scholarship “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act’,” the Commission on Higher Education will be providing a one-time fixed grant of five thousand pesos (Php.5,000.00) to qualified students who are enrolled this first semester of
Academic Year (AY) 2020-2021. NTC submitted online applications, on behalf of our recommended grantees to the CHED Regional Office. 10 grantees benefited from B2HELP Scholarship.

Orientation-Workshop on the UNIFAST Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)

CHED RO XI conducted the Orientation-Workshop last October 21-23, 2020. TES Focal Person, Ms. Charlyn Melendrez attended the workshop via ZOOM video conferencing. The process of submission of enrollment list into the UNIFAST Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Portal was discussed. Also, the guidelines on the TES Program as detailed in JMC No. 07 s. 2019 and the guidelines for the implementation of the Tulong-Dunong for ongoing grantees under TES (TDP-
TES) detailed on JMC No. 02 s. 2020 were also presented.

Culminating Activity on the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (End-VAW)

NTC faculty and staff attended the Culminating Activity on the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW last December 9, 2020 through Zoom Video Conferencing. The Safety Spaces Act Guidelines was reiterated by the Resource Person Atty.
Septon dela Cruz of the CHED Central Office. The status of HIV/AIDS in Davao Region was also presented by Ms. Priscilla Senoc of Davao City Health Office.
