The Computer Hardware Servicing NC II program is a vocational program that teaches students how to install, configure and maintain computer systems and networks. It develops students’ skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting of computer systems, as well as in the performance of computer operations.

The program enhances a student’s ability in basic computer application programs, MS-DOS/ Windows and Linux installation and PC software and hardware support. Also covered in the program are simple programming and creation of budget projections based on departmental needs.

This course covers the use various Java programming language constructs to create several Java technology applications. The emphasis is to train students to design, implement, test and debug programs intended to solve computing problems using fundamental programming constructs.

Upon completion of this module, the trainees must be able to:

  1. Design, implement, test and debug a program, based on a given specification that uses each of the following fundamental programming components; (1) primitive data types, (2) basic computation, and (3) simple I/O.
  2. Design, implement, test and debug a program using conditional and iterative structures, definition of functions and parameter passing, recursion and analyze & simulate results of algorithms that may be implemented as a solution to a given problem.
